Digital Imagery Scanning Kodak Earth Imaging Authorized Reseller Space Imaging Authorized Reseller LizardTech's MrSID Technology Digital Imagery Digital data is provided either as 1) graphic images suitable for printing, 2) geocoded images suitable for combining with existing vector maps, and 3) orthorectified images that take advantage of accurate digital elevation models and specialized software processing. Geocoded and orthorectified images are suitable for mosaicing into seamless databases comprised of anywhere from 2 to 100 images or more. A digital, county-wide mosaic will typically require 100 images--color-balanced, mosaiced and compressed--to fit onto a single CD-ROM. Scanning Aerial Access
scans nearly all of it’s imagery in-house utilizing modern state-of -the-art
equipment and techniques. Negatives/diapositives and color transparencies are
scanned on the Scitex EverSmart Jazz Scanner with true optical resolution to
12.7 microns. All common data formats are supported. Once scanned, images are processed to a customer’s quality specification by skilled and experienced technicians. Aerial Access takes pride in providing quality digital products, and aerial images undergo rigorous quality checks to ensure delivery of color-balanced, defect free images. Images can then be spatially referenced as another part successful solutions for clients. Accuracy, adherence to schedules, and quality are priorities. Turnaround times are generally 48 – 72 hours. It should be noted that the scanning process can result in some very large raster image files, and this problem can be compounded by the software used to integrate and study the raster layers which may require further increases in hardware requirements and print times. We can write data to the medium of your choice--CD, Zip or Jaz Disk.
![]() LizardTech’s MrSID is the leading image format and technology that has direct support from every major GIS software vendor. MrSID, the image format standard for geospatial professionals, is a wavelet-based imaging technology that reduces high-resolution images to less than five percent of their original file size while maintaining original image quality, thus enabling real-time viewing, panning and printing of massive-sized imagery inside or outside of popular GIS software packages. In addition, MrSID can be coupled with the latest Internet mapping products, allows users to quickly gain fast access to high-resolution images via the Internet. MrSID reduces any image of any size with little or NO DEGRADATION IN IMAGE QUALITY, even at very high reduction ratios. The actual reduction ratio achieved varies depending on image content and color depth, but in general it is around 20:1 for grayscale and 50:1 for full-color. Pricing: 10 cents/Megabyte |
